HAPPY SPRING! (I know, I know! I am a few days late, but I had a jammed packed week of activities that allowed me to embrace that equinox and I didn’t have time to post about it!)

First things first, the word equinox literally means equal. (Get it… equa?) There are actually many “equals” during the Spring Equinox. During the spring equinox, there is a balance of masculine and feminine powers as the sun & the moon spend an equal amount of time shining down on us. It is a time where the energies of the world are aligned and balanced. Think of the world as a giant Ying Yang symbol: a little bad in the good and a little good in the bad… BALANCE! Every moment is a learning experience… Accept the world with open arms and look for magic in everything. Even though it is a day late, these practices should still be done! It’s never too late to take advantage of a wonderful moment. So, exactly how can you Embrace the Equinox?

Spring Cleaning

This is probably not what you wanted to see on the list but stick with me for a minute… Theoretically, why should you have to clean if the world is all balanced anyway? Well because that balance comes from getting rid of any negative intentions & fears. Clutter included. So declutter, clean, dust, vacuum! Even if you get rid of one or two things in each room, you are making progress! As you are getting rid of this physical clutter, also clear your mind of any mental clutter. Take any insecurities or doubts, or painful memories or useless information and toss it in the bin with everything else. Breathe In. Feel refreshed, rejuvenated & replenished.

108 Sun Salutations

No, that is not a typo. That is 108 magical, beautiful, full Sun Salutations! Sun Salutations hold a special place in my heart because it is the first “flow” that I learned and continuously played with. It gives you a great foundation for matching your movements with your breath. (Not gonna lie, I haven’t been able to do this entire video in one sitting but I did do 54 one night and 54 the next morning) Look, it’s all about finding what works best for you and your schedule. There is no right or wrong way to do it as long as you set good intentions and maintain them throughout you are on your way.

I recommend this video for the Sun Salutation Practice. Allie is such an inspiration to the yogi ‘s alike. She has really motivated and inspired me to launch this blog and take my practices to the next level! Her teachings are educational, difficult and most importantly FUN! If you are just starting your yoga journey I suggest you join her community too!

Commit to Yourself

Here is where you, DO YOU! Explore yourself & challenge yourself to dig just a little deeper into your true inner YOU. Find what works and scrap what doesn’t! Maybe:

  • Dedicate more time to reading, or spend more time with loved ones
  • Go outside, explore this beautiful world
  • Whip up some healthy meals and start a new workout routine
  • Find time for yourself- Journal or take a long hot bath.

NOW is the time to set these goals & manifest them into reality this spring. NOW is the time to stop dwelling on the past. LET IT GO & make room for the positive stuff in life. NOW is YOUR time! Let’s do this!
