Hello, Friends! I am so excited to be writing my first blog post as Mindfully Melissa. I have some BIG plans for this blog and hope you will enjoy reading it, as much as I have enjoyed creating it!

So, because I have wanted to create an awesome site like this for some time now, I want my first blog post to address my intentions for the site; and what I hope to give & get out of it. Just like when you first start meditating, it can be super overwhelming staring at a blank page (or in that case a blank mind), but setting a “purpose” or intention for yourself is always a great place to start when your feeling overwhelmed. The only thing I ask is that you read it with an open heart & an open mind! I wanted to create this space to not only encourage others but also to hold myself accountable. I am a firm believer that people’s learning & growth can be multiplied just by connecting & supporting each other. With that, DO NOT be afraid to reach out and make some new connections! You never know who you may meet & the world is not short of anger and sadness, so be the light in someone’s life!

This blog will also act as a journal, to record my journey towards a more mindful life. Practicing mindfulness is so cool because you are never going to be done practicing. You will never be “perfect” at being mindful. And that’s OK! (That’s actually the point.) Each and every day we continue to practice and each and every day we will learn something new about ourselves. Our daily experiences are always changing and with that, our intentions and realizations may also change. And that’s the point! So, this blog is a place for me to share my experiences, favorite practices & yoga flows, recipes and book recommendations (book club anyone?) It is a place for you to turn for inspiration & motivation, and even more importantly, for support & encouragement along the way! Through this blog, I hope you are able to find YOUR balance in life and start living more mindfully!

This website is totally still a work in progress (for my Digital Communications Class) so feedback is greatly appreciated and welcome! I will definitely be trying new things; different fonts, colors, and logos for the next few months… so bear with me as I figure this thing out! 🙂
